Here’s what awaits you: St. Maarten's world famous Plane-spotting Beach, which offers a one-of-a-kind experience for aviation enthusiasts and adventure lovers. The legendary Maho Beach, also known as Sunset Beach, sits just off the end of the runway at Princess Juliana International Airport (SXM). Here’s what you can expect:
Commercial Airliners: North American carriers dominate the scene, with Air France and KLM operating long-haul transatlantic flights. The optimal plane-spotting hours are between noon and 17:00. Keep an eye out for Air France’s pair of A330 landings, which come remarkably close to the beach.
Aircraft Variety: Beyond European widebodies, you’ll spot Boeing 737s and Airbus A320 family jets. JetBlue’s A320ceo services from US hubs, Canadian carrier Air Transat’s A321neo flights, and Spirit Airlines’ Airbus narrow-body family add to the mix. Frontier recently started flying to St. Maarten from Orlando (MCO) as well.

Featuring mouthwatering, tender, smoky, and kissed by fire BBQ chicken that steals the show. Local fried plantains are the Caribbean’s love letter to comfort food, flavorful Rice & Peas, a harmonious side dish that whispers tales of generations past, and savory West Indian sautéed vegetables with dash of island spices—nutmeg, allspice, and a hint of a rhum adventure. For those who embrace the green, fear not! A vegetarian option is available upon request. Additional drinks and snacks are also available for purchase to satisfy any craving.
